Recently Nathan Kress spent some time with MediaBlvd.com about the success of iCarly, how he landed the role of Freddie, a guest role he had on Drake & Josh, the Nickelodeon Cruise, how filming of iCarly works, about handling school. iCarly toy items are a pretty popular item already this year when it comes to hot items  for kids in the 2009 Christmas season.  Amazon’s hot new release list and Toys R Us’ “Fabulous 15″ News Release detail the more sought-after toys for this upcoming holiday season.

iCarly has spawned a lot of themed products that you’ll be seeing under the Christmas tree this holiday season.  The products include Sam’s Remote, Megabyte Mic Microphone, and a pair of Sam and Carly Dolls.

Watch out Disney, it is more bad news.   We told Disney that it was evident that they did not understand today’s digitsl environment and we pointed out that it was evident that those behind iCarly surely did,well here is more evidence.   According to a news release on Reuters:

“Nickelodeon’s iCarly Ranks as Week’s Top Kids’ Program on All of TV With 7.6 Million Total Viewers   “iThink They Kissed” Scores Clean Sweep across Kid, Tween Demos for Week;  Ranks as Top Series Telecast on Basic Cable…

Nickelodeon’s iCarly “iThink They Kissed” (Saturday, Sept. 12, 8 p.m. ET/PT) ranked as the top-rated kids’ program on
all of television for the week (9/7/09-9/13/09), drawing 7.6 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The half-hour episode scored a clean sweep among all kid demographics, averaging a 10.9/3.8 million K2-11
(+252%), a 14.9/3.2 million K6-11, (+303%) and a 14.2/3.1 million T9-14 (+344%). ”

Tonight (Sept 12, 2009) is the kick-off of season 3 for iCarly with the showing of “iThink They Kissed” where Sam lets it slip that she and Freddie kissed.  When Carly finds out shoe goes a little ballistic and starts demanding to know why.  Sam won’t tell Carly but Freddie eventually spills the beans.  Meanwhile, Spencer signs up tp teach art to prisoners.

Does Carly realize she has feelings for Freddie?  Does Seddie happen with Sam and Freddie getting together?  Does Sam kill Freddie?  Does Spencer get abducted in prison? Watch this iThink They Kissed video -

New Jersey iCarly and Miranda Cosgrove fans, put it on your calendarS.  Miranda is coming to Bridgewater Commons on September 13, 2009!   The ever popular teen star will come to the mall and sign autographs for fans on Sunday from noon till 2:30 pm.

According to news soures the mall has become an iCarly pop center in anticipation of her arrival.  This Miranda Cosgrove / iCarly meet and greet is being hosted by People magazine to kick off its special issue foucsing solely on Miranda Cosgrove and iCarly!  Miranda will be siging autographs at the new P.S. from Aeropostale.

We had to post this because we couldn’t afford to be the only blog site to not post this!  Everyone has posted about it and even Dan Schneider, aka danwarp, got in the act a little.  Was it ever in doubt?  It is hards to believe that it was because iCarly is the best show Nick has going and everyone on the planet knows it!

Playmates Toys live-action iCarly dolls are scheduled for release in September.  They reportedly will include customizable vinyl figures, an interactive playset, and detailed electronic role play accessories.   Here is where  http://blog.atamaii.com/profiles/blogs/icarly-dolls-and-toys-revealed you can get a look at some of the action figures.

According to an LA Times article “A war is brewing between Nickelodeon and Disney Channel – and their press departments! — over who is more popular with young viewers: “iCarly’s” Carly Shay or Hannah Montana?”

iCarly’s latest movie special, iFight Shelby Marx, drew 7.9 million viewers on August 8t when it aired!  And being proud of this episode record performance, Nickelodeon did a press release touting the show and netwrok’s success at winning the night for cable TV among kids and all audiences for that night.  

Nick got right to the point and was bragging about the movie be a series high note and ointing out that “iFight Shelby Marx” basically crushed the Disney Channel’s programs, which were the final episode of the “Wizards of Waverly Place Wizards & Vampires vs. Zombies”  and a Hannah Montana re-run. 

But Disney then responded that its crossover episode of “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana” still ranks as the No. 1 show across all of cable.  Then Nick came back with that “iCarly” ranks as television’s No. 1 series among kids 2-11 and kids 6-11.  That is across all TV – not just cable.

To reach the high level of their audience for the Wizard-Suite Deck-Hanah Montana special, Disney had to pull in 3 shows, and run a ton of advertising across their network.  iCarly reached their high audience level with just thier show and their audience- one mean feat.   

Its very obvious to those watching this battle that iCarly has a good grasp on reaching their audience, a much better one than Disney, which has seen the Jonas Brothers appeal drop like a rock.  Disney you had better get your act together!  What happens after Miley Cyrus leaves?
