iCarly Blog

iCarly has been rolling along as the most popular kids’ TV show on cable, and with seemingly nothing standing in its way to continue dominating the segment.  Until now!

It now seems that musical pursuits of two of it’s biggest stars could brig about the end of iCarly.  We all have known that jennette McCurdy and Miranda cosgrove have been pursuing music careers, but now they have been reported saying that thier music pursuits are more important than thier acting careers.  This would seem to place iCarly into a troubled area.

Miranda Cosgrove recently indicated that her musical activities are a higher priority over her acting career!  She was quoted as having told Paper Magazine that while she appreciates iCarly’s success, her singing is her most satisfying creative efforts.  The exact quote was “Making iCarly is great, but I’ve just been doing it for such a long time…”

Miranda went onto say, ”I love music, and it was something I wanted to do but never thought I’d be able to… It all kind of just fell into place.”  It seems that Miranda is ready to move on from iCarly to pursue her music career.  While Miranda was stating this, Jennette McCurdy was giving some indication of similar feelings.

During a radio interview for a country music station, Jennette was saying how much she loved the direction her music career was going in and how much she was enjoying it.  Her music career is taking off with Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus producing some of the tracks on her new upcoming country album.  When asked if she had to choose between acting and singing, which would prevail she was quoted as saying, ”I really don’t think push is gonna come to shove in that way.   You know that saying, ‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’? I totally believe
that and think that definitely applies here. I love both of them.”  Jennette seems more intent on keeping with iCarly than Miranda, but both are heavily invested in their newfound music careers.  Will

We certainly hope that both Jennette McCurdy and Miranda Cosgrove stay with iCarly.   Hopefully, for iCarly and it’s fans they will stay with the show.

Jennette McCurdy is receiving some high praise for her singing career and for one of her latets songs, “Generation Love”.

An excerpt from the review, “McCurdy’s new country music single, “Generation Love,” ships to radio in April, and the mature and optimistic anthem focuses on her generation’s potential future contributions to society. Keep up the great work Jennette!

This Tuesday, March 1st, at 6:00 pm Jennette McCurdy will be singing at the CoolSprings Galleria Mall in Nashville. This is a performance to raise money for a charity, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and the concert has been named “Jennette McCurdy’s Generation Love for St. Jude”.

There will be live singing by Jennette and an autograph session for everyone that buys a charity CD for only a $10 donation. All of the proceeds are going to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The package has an 8×10 picture of Jennette and 2 songs, which are “Generation Love” and “Put Your Arms Around Someone.”

Jennette has always been involved and given her time and talent to support great causes. It’s one of the things that causes us to love her. iCarly fans, let’s turn out and support her and make this benefit a huge success on Tuesday.

Miranda Cosgrove seems to be doing well with her music career, at least according to one critic.  She is currently on a singing tour and was recently reviewed in Montclair, NJ.  Here is an excerpt from the review “… fans were screaming her name. She performed 13 songs. My top  favorites were Leave It All To Me (the theme song to iCarly), Just a Girl, Sayonara, and Dancing Crazy…”

Two lovable stars of iCarly, Jerry Trainor and Jennette McCurdy, will appear in a new Nickelodeon TV movie on March 12, 2011.  The movie, Best Player, will air at 8:00 PM on March 12th.   It is reportedly about two out-of-control video gamers who are die-hard rivals.  The movie follows Chris (played by Jennette) and Quincy (Jerry), two game junkies who find out that real life can be as fun and entertaining as the games they are addicted to.

It has been over a year that we’ve been under attack from hackers that were hi-jacking our blog and constantly injecting viruses.

We think we finally have the blog back completely under our control.  I am still working on getting the blog to function correctly as I had to wipe it clean and re-load just about everything.  Thanks for those with kind words while I was battling these scum.  It shouldn’t be long before the blog is back to where it was before.

Miranda Cosgrove, the iCarly star, will be making her way to Australia to appear as a special guest star at the upcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on November 13, 2009!

Miranda was quoted as saying that she was very excited about the trip to Oz.  She was quoted as saying “My friends and I look forward to Kids’ Choice Awards each year as we just love it, so to be traveling to Australia for the first time makes it even more exciting! I can’t wait to meet Australian kids and be part of the show… I just hope I get slimed while I’m there!”

Miranda is nominated for her a KCA in the “Fave International TV Star” category, up against Drake Bell, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez and the show iCarly is up for “Fave Comedy Show”.

During their hiatus from iCarly, Jerry Trainor and Jennette McCurdy are going to be busy shooting a new Nick movie called “Best Player”. To the uninitiated, Jerry Trainor plays Spencer and Jennette plays Sam Puckett on our favorite TV show, iCarly. Best Player is supposed to start shooting film this week.

The made for TV movie, is about a thirty-something champion gamer who doesn’t want to grow up and still lives with his parents in the basement. Of course this character is perfect for Jerry Trainor to play. Jennette plays a teen champion called the “Prodigy” who comes along to challenge the aging gamer a hard run for the championship.

Marjorie Cohn, a Nick executive was quoted as saying that their movie strategy is to take the up and coming stars from thier live-action hits and feature them in their own movies. And according to the exec, Jerry Trainor and Jennette McCurdy were at the top of their list! Just like at Disney, TV movies have become big business at Nick and other channels. They are relatively cheap to produce and have a big draw from the stars’ large fan bases. We can’t wait to watch Jennette and Jerry go at it in the “Best Player”.
