About iCarly

iCarly is the newest and most exciting show on Nickelodeon. It offers a new concept as it marries TV and the Web starring Miranda Cosgrove, famous for her role of Megan on "Drake and Josh". It is the first show appealing to "wired" kids. You can watch the television show, see a webcast embedded in the television show, visit the iCarly Web site that overlaps with the webcast on the television show, and then, if you really want to be famous, create your own video to be sent to the Web site, in the hopes that your video will be featured on a future webcast embedded in the television show. We think that iCarly will be a huge hit.

Now more about the show...
The storyline for how the iCarly webcast show got started goes like this: Sam, Carly's best friend, took their teacher's (Ms. Briggs) head and photoshopped it onto the body of a rhinoceros. Sam then went around the school putting up copies of the doctored picture all over. Naturally, when Ms. Briggs saw one, she lost it! Carly knew that if Ms. Briggs found out that Sam did it, Sam would probably get expelled from school. Sam is always getting into trouble and this might have been the big one. So, Carly decided to bail Sam out of trouble and told Ms. Briggs that she did the picture. Ms. Briggs wasn't happy and decided to punish Carly. She put Carly in charge of the auditions for the school's talent show and that meant a whole Saturday down the tubes. Carly made Sam help her since it was Sam's fault for the whole mess.

Carly needed to tape the auditions and couldn't borrow Steve's, her brother, because he used it to make a statue. So she asked her neighbor next door, Freddie, who also happens to have a huge crush on Carly to do the taping. There were a couple of neat auditions but most of them were really weak. Freddie started getting a little bored and began taping Carly and Sam when they started making fun of Ms. Briggs without them knowing about it. They were really funny.

Everything went fine until Freddie was supposed to download the auditions to the Web. He screwed up majorly. He didn't download the auditions, he downloaded the footage of Carly and Sam making fun of Ms. Briggs instead! Carly and Sam found out when they went to look later Saturday night to see if Freddie had downloaded the auditions to the Web.

The only thing they found was the tape of them making fun of Ms. Briggs. The girls totally freaked! It got worse when they found out that over 20,000 people had already viewed the vid. They told Freddie to get it off, but he couldn't until Monday morning. And guess what? Ms. Briggs was one of the people who saw it. Carly and Sam were so busted. To make matters worse the girls found out that Ms. Briggs wasn't going to listen to them about which auditions to accept. Carly was hugely bummed.

The one good thing that came out of all of this was that a bunch of people said they really liked the video. Carly, Sam, and Freddie were talking about how they should have some say in who got in the talent show because they ran the auditions and how they should do their own talent show, when suddenly someone came up with the idea of a Web cast show. The rest is history. Carly and Sam star on their own web show, iCarly, and Freddie does all of the behind the scenes tech stuff. Their first show was a huge hit and now they are really popular.
